Junction City Community Center
Originally constructed as a 5,750-square-foot fire station, this building had been converted into a community center years ago but no longer met the needs of Junction City’s growing community. The space was dark, drafty and inflexible, limiting its ability to support multiple programs and events.

Arbor South was engaged to thoughtfully update the facility, focusing on comfort, adaptability, and long-term performance. We replaced the original roll-up doors with energy-efficient storefront windows, bringing in natural light while improving the thermal performance. Inside, an operable wall was introduced to allow the main space to support simultaneous uses, and a new entry hall was designed to reduce disruption between activities.
During construction, unforeseen structural issues required a redesign of the roof support system. Our team worked closely with the contractor to resolve these challenges efficiently, keeping the project on track.
The result is a bright, flexible, and welcoming community center that better serves Junction City – supporting events, programs, and everyday connections that strengthen civic life.
Additional improvements included a new ADA-compliant restroom, upgraded lighting, and a modern HVAC system, significantly improving accessibility, comfort, and energy efficiency.
